Gustie Soccer Camp
WELCOME TO THE 2012 GUSTIE SOCCER CAMP! For over 20-years we have been teaching soccer skills and creating a passion for the game with our players. Our #1 goal is to create a positive learning environment where the young players can freely strive to improve their skills under the watchful eye of teacher-coaches. A player's soccer skill improves, and enjoyment of the game increases with continued practice even after their week at the Gustie Soccer Camp. Our camp program develops and refines skill development, and our camp atmosphere kindles the desire to keep improving. But, we strive to be more than just about soccer development. Our coaches spend as much time off the field interacting as positive role models with the players as they do on the field coaching. Having many return campers each year is a testament to this holistic approach.
The Gustie Soccer Camp for boys and girls ages 10-17 is held on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, Minnesota. Our highly qualified staff consists of coaches and players who have teaching and coaching experience at the high school, club, and college levels. Our staff is selected above all for their teaching skill and ability to relate with the young player.
We will teach the individual player the skills needed in order to enjoy the game of soccer. Technical-tactical training sessions will improve a player's decision making process and skill execution under game-like situations. Evening scrimmages will allow participants to put to use the skills and tactics they have learned. Specialized goal keeping instruction will train the young keepers in the technical and tactical demands of the position. Evening activities offer opportunities to interact with coaches with structured programs.
Above all, our staff wants to ensure that each camper has an experience that will benefit them both in soccer and in all phases of personal growth.
